Block Period Model

Time on technology: ~75 minutes

In low-tech environments, one Applied Reading and Writing lesson can be completed in one or more subjects during a 60-90 minute block. To provide additional personalized learning time, teachers may choose to present the Direct Instruction lesson to students as a whole class and preserve student 1:1 computing time for leveled applied lessons. For students who need additional time, teachers can schedule optional centers time in their classrooms or media center with a small set of devices.
